Before I share my experience I would like to thank few people who were a part of my weight loss journey.
My Coach – My Inspiration
I learnt Kickboxing at Spitfire Academy for 4 years with my Senior Coach Mr.Suresh Babu Master.
I have to say that he has taught me all the Discipline aspects, both in game and in Life. My another coach Mr Manoj is very dedicated in his work and has patiently taught me all the techniques involved.
Kickboxing is the highest form of meditation which trains you Physically, Emotionally and Mentally.
And Suresh Master has trained me to learn this Art Form in a very Professional manner. This academy is a very comfortable and friendly place for all women who want to learn Kickboxing.
Their workout regimen is very effective and entertaining. And they make sure that we reach our goals with much ease. This is the only place for Weight Loss, where they really don’t put you in any crash diet, but believe in hard-core workouts. With no doubt I would recommend this place for total Mind Body Soul Transformation.
Firstly, I would like to thank Dr. Ravi (My Dad’s Best buddy) who constantly advised me about the effects of obesity on my health. I still remember the day he spoke to me after I delivered my second baby, he made me understand that I was 50kgs above my optimum weight and that it was about time I take some remedial measure. I did take this advise very seriously but was unsure of how and where to start.
He advised me to start with a dietician, Mrs. Gomathy. I met her and followed her diet plan holistically and I was able to shred 20 kgs in 5 months. I am really indebted to her as that’s where my weight loss journey kick started. Next, I would like to thank Mr. Balaji (Personal Trainer) at Fitness One Gym, under whose guidance; I lost 30 kgs in 6 months. His combination of workouts and constant motivation when I was down helped me completely to win the battle of obesity.
I was also blessed to have emotional support during this period. My heartfelt thanks to my good friend N.A. Mala Mam for standing by my side throughout this difficult journey. Last but not the least, all this would not have been possible without my husband Badhri who sacrificed most of his social life as I was on strict diet. I thank these people and mere words are insufficient to express my gratitude to all of them. They have completely transformed me into a whole new person and help to start a FRESH LIFE.
To begin with I would say, that the first thing I did was to train my mind and mentally got prepared that my weight loss was going to be A LONG TIME COMMINTMENT and I’m not going to quit whatever happens and just continue to diet and exercise till I get into my ideal weight. Once I started to lose weight, I kept count of only how much more to lose rather than counting on how much I have lost. Believe me, this works wonders. I have seen people get relaxed or there are chances to give up your weight loss program once you start counting how much you have lost. Your brain will tell you that you have accomplished a lot, you start gaining weight and eventually give up.
Our body is the best creation of God. We just abuse it by over eating in various situations. We find reasons to overeat just to make us feel comfortable. But there are some special cases where people do fall into hormonal category where weight loss is a challenge. I am on of the luckier ones. However, even we, as healthy individuals struggle so much to get the excess fat out of our system. It’s mainly because of lack of knowledge on how our system works and no regular commitment to fitness that weight loss appears to be rocket science.
It took years for me to learn that to never start dieting and exercise together (for beginners who don’t know where and how to start weight loss).
Once you are on strict diet and even on moderate exercise, your body will start craving for food and you end up eating more. When you do extensive work out, you should learn to adjust your diet plan accordingly, I mean you can relax a bit on your diet. I would recommend for people who want to lose weight should first start with diet. Only focus on diet. And only a dietician can do justice to it. Follow their diet plan holistically lose weight quickly. This will help to kick start your weight loss regime. Once you start losing weight, that will help you to gain confidence and move forward. By that time, your stomach would shrink in size and you get used to the new diet plan. Slowly move to gym and start working out from low intensity to high intensity as weight loss progresses. Learn to master your diet plan. DIET is the main secret for the weight loss and shape transformation.
Also, never say No to your Favorite food. I love chocolates and I included chocolate in my diet. Having a piece of chocolate won’t harm. But completely staying away from your favorite food will makes you quit your diet. So, know your limit.
There are two things to be kept in mind; one is weight loss and other is toning. Weight loss will happen quick. But toning will happen slowly but working out on regular basis will help to speed up the process of toning. But you need to wait. For people more than 25kgs excess, can lose weight within few months but shaping and toning might take at least 2years. That process is slow, because we need to give our skin time cover up the loose space. Until then we should be committed to fitness and NEVER GIVE UP. You will surely be rewarded for it.
I didn’t just stop there, I have even underwent an extensive training for Kick- Boxing and I’m proud to say that I’m Black Belt DAN Certified. Just to pamper myself and feel nice, I had a Photo Shoot done. I thank my Photographer friend Lakshmi Ashok for bringing out the best in me. I also extend my heartfelt thanks Studio 149 by Swathi Purushothaman to design my Colorful Lahenga.
I’m more than happy to help anyone who wants my guidance and advice. They can ping me anytime.
Why wait then? Lose Weight and feel PROUD of yourself and Help Others Too with your SUCCESS!!!!!
